The Eagle Junction (EJ) community has proudly honoured ANZAC Day through a series of meaningful events, reflecting our deep respect for the service and sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand men and women.
On ANZAC Day, more than 50 EJ students joined staff and families at the Kalinga Park Service. It was a beautiful morning of reflection and remembrance, and our students represented the school with pride. A special thank you to Mrs Heather Farley for walking with the students during the march and ceremony.
Earlier in the week, our school held its own ANZAC Ceremony. Despite the rainy weather forcing a last-minute change of venue, the event was a moving tribute. Held in our hall, the ceremony included our Prep and Year 6 students, the Senior Choir, and wreath bearers from each class. We were also joined by parents and extended family members, who helped create a warm and respectful atmosphere despite the change in plans.
Adding to the significance of the week, our 2025 School Captains represented EJ at the official ANZAC Commemoration School Service in Brisbane. Alongside thousands of other students from across the state, they paid tribute to our servicemen and women — and even had a moment to speak with the Premier of Queensland. We are incredibly proud of their respectful and mature representation of our school.
Together, these events highlight the importance of honouring our ANZAC legacy, and we thank all students, staff, and families who participated and supported these commemorations.
