Open day

In August each year, the school holds an open day, to welcome students and parents who are newly enrolling to the school.

The open day program provides an information session regarding enrolment procedures, curriculum and school facilities, an opportunity to meet the principal, deputy principals and other key staff, as well as a guided tour of the main facilities including the prep classrooms and playground.

A transition day is held later in the year, usually November, where the student has the opportunity to become more familiar and confident with the school environment.

The date of the open day for this year will be posted on this site as soon as it is determined. There is no requirement to register, simply come along on the day.

The school ball

The school ball, organised by our P&C association, is a wonderful night for all the family where the students can exhibit their singing, dancing and drama skills learnt during physical education lessons. In previous years the school ball has been held at the Brisbane city hall, but due to refurbishment works being undertaken the ball has been moved to the Royal Brisbane Showgrounds.

The ball is held at the end of term 3 and has a theme so students can come dressed to match. Details of date and theme are announced in the Flying Eagle closer to the event.

Talent Quest

Held in the assembly hall, the Talent Quest provides an opportunity for students to showcase their individual skills and talents to their peers. The Talent Quest is organised by the student council and is open to all students in years 1 to 7. A nominal fee is charged for each student participating in the talent quest, and to each student wishing to watch in the assembly hall.

The money raised from the talent quest is used raise money for a children's hospital in Vellore, India. Money raised is presented at an assembly to a representative from the foundation who forwards them on to the hospital. This is a very worthwhile activity for students as it raises awareness of issues of children living in developing economies and encourages them to assist others.

Trivia night

The trivia night is a fabulous evening of frivolity and fundraising for parents conducted by the parent network. It is an opportunity for parents to dress up and compete at the highest level imaginable for the coveted Eagle Junction trivia night grand prize.

The trivia night is usually held in term 4 and all monies raised are used to support students from our school who are in need. Details of date and venue are announced in the Flying Eagle closer to the event
